Coated Electrodes for Gouging

AG-1 (gouging)

“AG-1” is an electrode coated with special fluxes on mild steel rods that uses alternating or direct current without air and by adjusting the angle between current, electrode and the base metal such as stainless steel cast iron, mild steel, cast steel, all kinds of steel alloy bevelling, grooving, getting rid of defects such as cracks and holes, it can be used easily. The shape after grooving and gouging is U and the width is up to double of the diameter of electrode. The depth is up to three times. Even if the base metal surface is immediately welded or overlayed, there is no worry about defects occurring.

Notes for Usage

When bevelling or grooving, manipulate the electrode to move front and back, up and down, and remove melting metal. The suitable angle of the electrode is 10 ~ 30 degrees against base metal. If the angle is less than above, workability is good, but electrode consumption will be high. If the angle is more than above, it will be workable for deep gouging, but the melting metal will not flow as well. When hole gouging, electrodes are kept at 90 degrees to the base metal, and work is done moving the electrode up and down.

Recommended currents

3.2φ 150~200Amp
4.0φ 200~250Amp
5.0φ 300~350Amp

Applications

U groove of mild steel, cutting, boring, back gouging, repairing of cast iron and cast steel, the cutting of stainless steel, copper, alloy, etc.

Brazing flux for silver brazing

The origin of brazing was gold work in the ancient Mesopotamian civilization.
As a method of bonding metal, it is relatively easy and because it is possible to obtain a beautiful finish, it has been used by people for over 4,500 years.
Torch brazing is the basis of brazing and flux has an important role.
Our “BF-1” for silver brazing makes good brazing possible by applying the brazing portion.
